This afternoons friendly match is being billed on Thai Ports official website as "the opening of season 2010". After several leisurely fixtures, Port are obviously keen to step things up, starting today against our Singaporean opponents.
Over the next few weeks, we will also be playing in the Izusu Cup, Queen's Cup, and Kor Royal Cup. Hopefully that will be enough preparation for what promises to be a tough season ahead in the Thai Premier League, FA Cup, and AFC Cup.
Before the Thai Port vs Tampines match gets under way at 5:00 pm, Thai Port players, and representatives of new sponsors, FB Battery, will be formally introduced to the PAT Stadium crowd. The Port players should also be wearing their brand new Adidas strip for the first time.
