The impish midfielder joined us from Samut Songkhram in January and has put in a number of eye-catching performances during the year. His display in the recent win over Chonburi, in particular, was a joy to behold. 'Bon' is also Thai Port's current top scorer with 6 goals to his name.

FULL LIST: 1. Kazuto Kushida (Chonburi), 2. Frank Ohandza (Buriram PEA), 3. Frank Acheampong (Buriram PEA), 4. Leandro Dos Santos (Army United), 5. Wasan Natasan (Chiang Rai United), 6. Lazarus Kaimbi (Osotspa), 7. Khaled Kharoubbi (Osotspa), 8. Alex (Siam Navy), 9. Sarif Sainui (Buriram PEA), 10. Ekkapoom Potharungroj (Thai Port)

Too true, Ekkapoom has been one of the positives of a long, trying season.
ReplyDeleteWith the season all but over, I've been thinking ahead to next season, and possible 2012 signings.
It's been almost universally agreed on here decided that the team lacks strikers, so i'll start there.. Phudit & Kim Dong Chan has looked good at times, but lacked opportunities. I'd say getting the two Franks from Buriram is unrealistic, but here are some players I think Port could look at,if, ahem, money were no object.
1)Sarayoot Chaikamdee - A Port legend. Has done well at BG, but most of his opportunities came when his mentor Aj-harn was coach. Now Surachai is back in charge, & clearly favours Chatree Chimtalay (who's scored 4 in 2), he may want to move on. He's guaranteed love at PAT, why look elsewhere?
2)Anon Sangsanoi - 50 TPL goals between 2008-2010. Went to MTU this season, and has lacked opportunities, & been played out of position on wing, which has affected his form. Has scored a few lately, & looked sharp in a more central role of late.
As I understand it, MTU & BG are in another division wage-wise, so could be a stumbling block.
3)Div 1: Chainarong Tatong (BBCU) & Puwadon Suwannachart (Chai Nat)- Chainarong was top Div 1 scorer last season and has at least dozen this year, & Puwadon has 20 this season. Of course, they're in teams that are getting promoted, so an offer of TPL football isn't going to work. However, Adisak Srigambang (PTT) also has 20 goals this year, & PTT aren't getting promoted.
4)Buriram FC's Douglas (15 goals) may find himself unwanted at Buriram Utd, but I think he's a nasty piece of work, & wouldn't want him in my side. Dudu, currently on loan at almost-relegated Sri Racha, doesn't want to stay in Buriram, & they don't want him, so may be actually be allowed to leave in 2012.
To my earlier post, I'd also add Christian Nade who has impressed me in the few games I've seen him play. He's certainly looked more menacing than another EPL player who moved Thailand with more fanfare at the same time. Also, if we're plundering relgation teams, Kone Mohammed of TOT might be worth a look.
ReplyDeleteI'd love us to sign any of those players, Wolf. With the ways things are going, we'll struggle to keep hold of the strikers that we've already got. I reckon there's a fair chance of me and you getting a game next year...as long as you don't mind playing for free!
ReplyDeleteWho in their right mind would sign for us now? Port Auth needs to ditch Super Rich. Of course I am sure it would go to court.
ReplyDeleteI hope they do. From what I was told, the 5 year deal between PAT & SR is reviewable after each year. It wouldn't surprise if SR decided in May/June to end it after this season, hence the reason they aren't putting any money in.
