Yet Another U-Turn (Part 1)

Port FC is dead, long live Thai Port! The club have released a brief statement on the old (or should that be current?) website saying that we will play under the name Thai Port FC during the 2012 season. That means the Port FC name and logo have been scrapped completely. Good news!

It's not the first time that Port have made an embarrassing u-turn in the recent past. Ex-Vice President Pichet Mankong was forced to scrap plans to change the clubs nickname to FB Battery Singhjaotha at the behest of Port supporters.

  1. Thanks for all the up-dates. Does this mean that Alex Ruella won't be coming to Port due to only having five foreigners on the books? Reading the posts about Moise, we must have all been having the same conversation around the ground. We have discussed on many occasion which UK league he would be successful in. Even when we went through that really drab period of not scoring a goal for about 6 league games it was worth going just to watch him play; the guy is class.

Have you heard anything regarding signing decent strikers?

  2. No probs, mate! I'm not sure about Alex? It's gone very quiet though. Pattaya are rumoured to be interested. Teams can have 7 foreigners on the books. I think most will go with 2 Asian and 5 non-Asian. At the moment, we've got: Asian - Kim Ba-Wi & Non Asian: Robb, Mario and Olof, so there is a possibility of us signing 3 more foreigners.

My local team is League 1 side Tranmere. Moise would easily get in their team. He's prone to the odd gaffe here and there, but then again, so are the likes of Rio Ferdinand, John Terry etc.

Not heard anything about signing strikers. You'd think that would be the priority. Sarawut and Phudit are still at the club, but they should be no more than back-up players. Even Alex isn't really a striker. Watch the video (link below). He does most of his good work from wide right.

  3. Am I allowed to do u-turns as well? The new coach seems to think that Alex has signed for us. I'm currently seeking confirmation!
